History of the enterprise begins in 1832 when August Gerber established Fabrik A. Gerber & Sohn.
In 1872 production halls were rented and then bought by the firm. In 1924 the enterprise converted into a limited share company.
Construction of Wool Combing Plant in Żagań was a breakthrough event in 1957. In those days adaptation work began to launch a wool wash - house and a combing plant.
For more than 30 years Wool Combing Plant in Żagań was producing exclusively wool tops as semi - finished products for yarn manufacture to meet the needs of weaving and textile mills. At the turn of 1989/1990 German knitting machines were bought and the production was broadened to knit fabrics from the material of full value. In the subsequent years Wool Combing Plant bought stenters and cloth clipping machines, which was to raise the quality of the products.
In years 1996 - 2002 the company under the name of Wool Products Factory "Poltops" share holding corporation continued the production line of the wool combing plant.
In 2004 a new transactor came into operation under the name of Poltops Co. Ltd., which runs a business until now.
